The work mainly consists of doing various gardening jobs in the green areas on the large Zoo territory: clearing and tiding up, mowing grass, cutting bushes, planting flowers. Most of the work will be outdoors. In case of rainy weather alternative work indoors will be found. The work is planned for 4-6 hours a day. Please note that the work does not include direct contact with the animals. In addition to this there will be some light renovation and cleaning jobs in the youth centre house, where volunteers are going to stay.

Age: 18+ Requirements: Motivation letter
We invite volunteers for intercultural exchange with the local children (12-16 years old). The idea is to develop and teach 6 life lessons on different topics (e.i. team building, ecological education etc). We want to provide open space for volunteers to bring their ideas and help to implement them. Volunteers will have 2 days for each topic: 1 day to prepare and 1 day to perform. One of the lessons will be taught to the leaders and active volunteers of the regional partners-NGOs. The last 3-4 days will be in the regional landscape park Zuevka, where volunteers together with the representatives of NGOs will spend in the eco-style, living in tents and cooking in teams. Special program will be prepared for that part.

The performances consist in conducting a series of infrastructures that will address the needs of space called ´The Territory of the Games´. It will create basic elements for the development of activities in this place: Green roof on the Straw Bale Cabin, composting toilet building, ,onstruction of solar showers, building a dome-shaped greenhouse, building a shepherd’s hut, construction of a traditional oven Reconstruction of the laberynth In buildings it will be used the criteria of low impact, traditional building techniques and eco-efficient technology. Young volunteers will gain skills in self-construction, bio-building, sustainability, use of local and recycled materials.

Volunteers will support the pro-environmental efforts of the local community. The work will include tidying up the area, identifying dead trees for cutting down, recording the tree areas in the city, removing branches, garbage and other manual works in surrounding forests and the bank of the river Swider.
